Windows, Doors & Facades Event Attracts Record-Breaking Attendance

Record-breaking attendance and on-site deals: that’s what helped to make the 2017 edition of the Windows, Doors & Facades Event in Dubai such an incredible success. With over 7,000 visitors attending the three-day event, this year saw a huge 33% jump in attendance over the previous year.

A New Construction Boom

There are currently 11,000 new building projects under way in the GCC area, with nearly 50% of them focused on the UAE. With the construction industry doing so well in the region with both commercial and domestic projects, the demand for high-quality doors and windows is sky high. In fact, demand for building materials is expected to be forced even higher, particularly with the Expo 2020 Dubai just around the corner.

A Global Platform

This annual event brings together key stakeholders from across the industry. At the 2017 event, the Middle East Facades Summit focused on a number of key industry issues, including building design and fire safety, with a number of conference and workshop sessions. The region’s only dedicated platform for manufacturers of windows, doors and facades, the event is expected to grow even bigger next year.

Double Glazing in Dubai

With its tropical desert climate, why is double glazing so popular in Dubai? For many of the same reasons that people install double glazed windows and doors in Dublin, supplied by trusted companies like Keane Windows. It lets in natural light in while keeping extremes of temperature and persistent noise out.

In fact, double glazing is very efficient at regulating temperatures, particularly in a climate with extremes of hot and cold like Dubai. There’s no need to rely on thermostats or heating and cooling systems because double glazing is so reliable at keeping the temperature comfortable. In our colder climes, we may experience the reverse effect, but the energy-efficiency of double glazing remains constant, reducing your carbon footprint and driving down your energy bills – something that’s very important these days.

What’s in Store for 2018?

The next Windows, Doors & Facades Event will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 23 to 25 September, 2018. Organisers are hoping that the construction boom will continue to drive attendances higher and that a significant number of business deals will be done across this fast-growing and exciting sector.
